Situated north of Leicester city centre and forming part of the UK’s ‘Space Spine’, the 36 acre (15 hectare) site hosts an array of world-leading facilities and equipment. Split across three zones, they include the University of Leicester’s state-of-the-art research and development campus, Space Park Leicester; the Dock and the new Exploration Drive development, a cluster of high-tech business and industrial incubator workspaces; and iconic visitor attraction, the National Space Centre.

At least one piece of Leicester-built technology has been operating in space since 1967.
Following the founding of the Space Research Group, at the University of Leicester in 1960, by Professor Ken Pounds, Leicester has continued to collaborate with international space agencies and industrial partners in over 90 missions.
A proud legacy that has produced leading-edge spin-outs, start-ups and scale-ups, who have contributed to the advancement of Space 4.0, and space and Earth observation.

Space Park Leicester is where academic rigour meets commercial acumen, and is super-charged by world-class research facilities and Freeport status.
